Again, the Forberg Dryers use the same fluidised zone principle as the Mixers. Hot air at a chosen and optimal temperature is ducted into the mechanically fluidised product, causing every wet particle to be in contact with the air and creating the best possible conditions for moisture transfer. The moisture-laden air is filtered as it leaves the drying chamber. Forberg Dryers can be designed as:

• Open Systems - where moisture-laden air is returned to atmosphere; or
• Closed-Loop Systems - where the air passes through a cooler, and condensed water exits the system while the dry air is reheated and stays in the system.
